The Relationship Between Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Symptoms and Bedtime Procrastination

Background/Aims: We aimed to examine the relationship between attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms bedtime procrastination.
 Materials Methods: Five hundred fifty-three university students participated in our study. All participants, turn, answered sociodemographic data form, The Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS v1.1), Bedtime Procrastination (BPS), Brief Self-Control (BSCS), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). participants were divided into two groups, probable non-ADHD, according ASRS score. compared data, sleep routines, psychometric scales these groups. Finally, we analyzed factors that could predict procrastination by hierarchical regression analysis.
 Results: mean age of was 20.55 ± 2.17. Most female unmarried (69.6% 98.2%, respectively). BPS, ISI, scores significantly higher group than non-ADHD (p < 0.01). BSCS score lower Sleep duration correlation coefficients 0.461, 0.268, -0.442, respectively Self-control separately predicted with approximately same variance (%4 vs. %3.9).
 Conclusions: Clinicians should evaluate individuals adult clinical interview or BPS. Individuals be assisted cognitive behavioral therapy-insomnia hygiene.
